Sharm el Sheikh is synonymous with scuba diving, not only because it overlooks the Red Sea but also because here the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba, resulting in different currents and nutrients that translate into a wealth of marine life.

The variety of offerings in the northern Red Sea is such that it caters to all diving enthusiasts.

Among the breathtaking and magnificent dives in the nature-rich Ras Mohammed National Park, there are also those that evoke strong emotions, such as wreck dives.
The Thistlegorm, one of the most famous wrecks in the world, will move you with its history.

Metal sheets forever swallowed by the horrors of war become an incredible oasis of life thanks to the sea.

Wall dives, where you float like reef fish amidst coral cathedrals and gorgonian forests, alternate with dives in the blue, where the thrill of encounters with predators awaits.
Alongside the dive sites suitable for newly certified divers, there are sites for experienced divers who have filled many log books.

Lastly, alongside the sea trips, there are also desert excursions to reach mythical underwater destinations such as the Blue Hole and the Canyon.

Dive at HOUSE REEF/PARADISE

Paradise is the most suitable name for a site that is a true paradise of colors. The yellow, pink, and red shades of the Alcyonacean that cover the madreporic pinnacles rising between the reef wall and the drop-off; the vibrant hues of the ubiquitous Anthias and the rich diversity of reef fauna found here; the softer tones of Acropora corals and large gorgonians.

Dive at RAS UMM SID

Ras Umm Sid is the name of the promontory that marks the beginning of the Tiran Strait. The underwater site bearing the same name is located east of the lighthouse that overlooks this stretch of land. It is easily accessible from the shore and is characterized by an extraordinary abundance of gorgonians. Here, thanks to the continuous northward current, they have found the ideal habitat to proliferate, forming a true forest, the most beautiful in the entire northern Red Sea.

Dive at SHARK & JOLANDA REEF

An extremely diverse underwater landscape and the abundance of both reef and pelagic fauna make Shark Reef the most famous and popular diving site in the Red Sea. To fully enjoy the exceptional marine life in this location, the best time to visit is during the summer, particularly in the month of July.

Dive at JACK FISH ALLEY

Between the madreporic cliff that borders the coastline and the parallel reef, there is a sort of sandy path frequented by jack fish. This is the reason why the site is known by this evocative name. The dive at Jack Fish Alley begins with a descent into the current that immediately leads to the entrance of a cave located at six meters deep, which penetrates the reef for about forty meters.

Dive at RAS ZA’ATAR

Ras Za’atar is the name of the promontory that marks the southern boundary of Marsa Bereika Bay. The dive site shares the same name, and starts at a madreporic pinnacle topped with a tubular Acropora located at approximately 21 meters deep. It then continues along the wall, which is wonderfully covered with multicolored Alcyonaceans, horizontally arranged gorgonians, and colonies of black coral.

Dive at JACKSON REEF

Jackson Reef is the northernmost reef of the Tiran Strait and is characterized by the presence of the wreck of a Cypriot merchant ship, Lara, which sank in 1981 and is now unrecognizable due to partial demolitions. The dive usually starts on the southern side, sheltered from waves and winds.

Dive at WOODHOUSE REEF

Woodhouse Reef is a narrow and over a kilometer-long reef located between Jackson Reef and Thomas Reef. Since there is no shelter for boats (and no fixed anchorage), it is only possible to do drift dives here when weather conditions permit.

Dive at THOMAS REEF

Thomas Reef is the smallest of the four reefs in the Tiran Strait, but it is one of the most spectacular diving sites in the entire northern Red Sea. Due to the lack of anchorage points, this is a drift dive and is reserved for experienced divers, mainly because of the potential presence of strong currents.

Dive at GORDON REEF

Gordon Reef, with its red and white lighthouse, is the eastern reference point of the Tiran Strait. It is characterized by the presence of the wreck Louilla, a Panamanian cargo ship that ran aground on the northern side of the reef in 1981. Over the years, the force of the sea has gradually taken its toll on the ship hull, which can still be seen battered on the reef.

Dive at THISTLEGORM wreck

Immersing on a wreck is a truly exciting experience because, while floating among seemingly lifeless metal sheets, one cannot help but imagine the history of the sunken vessel. In the northern part of the Red Sea, at a distance of 19 miles from Ras Mohammed and 31 miles from Sharm El-Sheikh, lies an exceptional wreck in terms of its completeness and richness.

DAHAB CANYON AND BLUE HOLE SPECIAL

At 80 km from Sharm El-Sheikh, there is a town called Dahab, which means “gold” in the local language. The precious color that characterizes the southeastern coast of Sinai probably fascinated the ancient Bedouins who settled here as early as the second century AD. At least, this is the dating that emerged from archaeological excavations that focused on the remains of a port and a trading emporium.
