Kalymnos is the island of sponges and has an enchanting rocky coast and deep coves with attached beaches and taverns, we will skirt the eastern coast of Kalymnos up to the deep inlet of Palionissos, a deep gorge that descends to the sea: beach and two taverns.
Two hours of navigation, sailing, upwind, sheltered from the sea we go up Kalymnos from the east to Leros, to dock in the harbor of Pandelli, an enchanting little village on the sea, here the restaurants have tables on the beach. In Leros the Italian influence is very strong and the architecture of the "twenty years" brings to mind the buildings of the Agro Pontino.
Just a few more miles upwind to sail to Lipsi, a small island with a gentle coast, many bays and beaches, don't miss the rocks and caves of Macronissi, the town overlooking the small port is enchanting.
A couple of hours of sailing to get to Arki island, a very small port with attached taverns, bays with turquoise water, alternatively sparse in Marathi with its beach and taverns.
An hour's sailing abeam to Patmos, the last of the islands we will visit; worldly, elegant, fascinating, the Chora is another of those jewels not to be missed. Here St. John wrote the Apocalypse.
Just over 30 miles, all with the wind at our backs and we will return to Kalymnos where we will spend the last night.
Breakfast and disembarkation by 10am.
