Dahab (Canyon e Blue Hole) Special
At 80 km from Sharm El-Sheikh, there is a town called Dahab, which means “gold” in the local language. The precious color that characterizes the southeastern coast of Sinai probably fascinated the ancient Bedouins who settled here as early as the second century AD.
At least, this is the dating that emerged from archaeological excavations that focused on the remains of a port and a trading emporium.
With a one-hour journey through the desert, Dive In takes you to explore this place and its most iconic dives: the Canyon and the Blue Hole.
The Canyon is an extremely fascinating natural cavity where the creative and destructive power of nature merge to create corridors of extreme beauty, made even more surreal by brushstrokes of sunlight.
The fascinating fissure descends to a depth of 54 meters, but the dive is recreational, so the entry is made at around 30 meters and explores the upper part. It concludes with a small cave where you cannot escape the embrace of its inhabitants, the glass fish.
Upon your return, a true coral garden will provide colorful notes to a dive that you will remember forever. The Blue Hole is a cavity in the reef with very unique characteristics: it is 150 meters wide, 110 meters deep, and connects to the sea through a tunnel whose ceiling starts at 52 meters.
The Great Blue Hole is reached through a dive that starts from a nearby site called El Bells.
El Bells is a kind of chimney in the reef that lends itself to exceptional light play thanks to the sun penetrating the water. Once you reach a depth of 30 meters, you exit the chimney and enter a world of wonder that only the sea can offer.
The vertical wall that drops into the blue is rich in corals, sea fans, anemones with their inseparable clownfish, and many other colorful forms of life such as butterflyfish and angelfish. Exploring the wall gradually leads us to a saddle adorned with corals, which provides access to the interior of the Blue Hole.
