Dive at Ras Za’atar (Ras Mohammed National Park)
Ras Za’atar is the name of the promontory that marks the southern boundary of Marsa Bereika Bay. The dive site shares the same name, and starts at a madreporic pinnacle topped with a tubular Acropora located at approximately 21 meters deep.
It then continues along the wall, which is wonderfully covered with multicolored Alcyonaceans, horizontally arranged gorgonians, and colonies of black coral.
But the stunning wall of Ras Za’atar is not the only point of interest in this dive.
At a depth of 10-15 meters, two scenic chimneys rise towards the surface, allowing rays of sunlight to illuminate the fauna within the crevices, such as common lionfish, golden glassfish, and some large groupers.
